'Light Cycle' references the zoëtrope – the ancestor of film and video as the dominant narrative forms of modern culture. A base of forged silver feminine forms encircles a bronze turbine. The viewer leans in to blow on the turbine, and view the flickering candle animation through a slit in the deerskin shade. The flickering image recalls the archetypal storytelling scenario: faces gathered around a lamp or fire as daylight ebbs.
2017; foldformed and raised sterling silver, fabricated bronze, wetformed deerskin, maple, English silver dish, giclée print, LED illumination
